Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Parcer ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
2. Description of Service
Parcer is a receipt-parsing service that reads merchant receipts (via photo upload or email forwarding) and creates split, categorized transactions in your connected budgeting tool (currently YNAB). Parcer uses AI to parse receipt content and infer category mappings based on your existing transaction history.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. By using Parcer, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.
4. Account and Access
To use Parcer, you must connect a valid YNAB account via OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your YNAB account credentials. Parcer never accesses or stores your YNAB password.
You may revoke Parcer's access to your YNAB account at any time through YNAB's Account Settings.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or the servers and networks connected to it.
- Use the Service to process receipts or create transactions on behalf of someone else without their consent.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
- Use the Service in a manner that violates the YNAB API Terms of Service.
6. AI-Generated Content
Parcer uses AI (the Anthropic Claude API) to parse receipts and categorize items. While we strive for accuracy, AI-generated categorizations and amounts may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing and confirming the accuracy of split transactions before they are finalized in your budget.
Parcer is not a financial advisor and does not provide financial, tax, or accounting advice. The Service is a convenience tool for categorizing personal budget transactions.
7. Accuracy and Limitations
Parcer processes receipts on a best-effort basis. We do not guarantee:
- 100% accuracy of receipt parsing, line item extraction, or tax allocation.
- Compatibility with all receipt formats, merchants, or languages.
- Continuous or uninterrupted availability of the Service.
- That YNAB's API will remain available or unchanged.
You should verify that split transactions created by Parcer are accurate before relying on them for budgeting decisions.
8. Pricing and Payment
During the beta period, Parcer is free to use. If and when paid plans are introduced, we will notify you in advance. We will never charge you without your explicit consent.
9. Data and Privacy
Your use of Parcer is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what data we access, store, and how we protect it. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in the Privacy Policy.
10. Third-Party Services
Parcer integrates with third-party services including YNAB and Anthropic. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. Parcer is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or officially connected to YNAB or Anthropic.
11. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, code, and documentation, is the property of GrayM Systems, LLC. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the Service for its intended purpose.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.
13. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, GRAYM SYSTEMS, LLC SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM:
- YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE;
- INACCURACIES IN RECEIPT PARSING OR TRANSACTION CATEGORIZATION;
- UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO OR ALTERATION OF YOUR DATA;
- ANY THIRD-PARTY CONDUCT ON THE SERVICE.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, with or without notice. You may stop using the Service at any time by revoking Parcer's access through your YNAB account settings.
Upon termination, we will delete your stored data (OAuth tokens and preferences) within 30 days.
15. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page and update the effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
